O'kosi Art Show | Lobbyfest 2023

Join us at The GRAND for a captivating evening of art and culture. Making Treaty 7, in collaboration with The GRAND and part of LobbyFest, presents the O’kosi Visual Art Show, a pioneering celebration of Blackfoot heritage. On September 15th, from 6:30 - 9:30pm, immerse yourself in the narratives of Past, Present, and Future, as depicted by talented Blackfoot Artists from across Treaty 7 territory. The evening embodies a blend of settler and Indigenous arts, in the heart of an Indigenous-art-filled lobby, enriched further by the live jazz stylings of The LWC Standards Trio. O'kosi (oh-goh-see), a term deriving from the Blackfoot language, signifies 'fall', a season marked by unity and preparation for the impending winter. With great excitement, we seize this opportunity to spotlight and endorse an array of the region's visual artists during the production of the O'kosi show. This is a unique chance for us to not only present their exceptional works but also celebrate the rich culture and narratives they encapsulate.
